There it was beneath a sagebrush scorched on its edges, steam wafting from its pages, a crack down the middle of its spine. It smelled of rotting fish and worm-ridden apples. Thinking this relic originated with the Egyptians or the Toltecs or the Mayans, I carefully lifted the cover. The light that shone upon me that day, can now shine upon you, for this book was not the product of our ancestors, but of our descendants.

On his quest for escape, Volten confronts guns, police, cults, outlaw feminists, wannabe oligarchs, and entrenched militias finally coming into contact with rival factions of the Trump family. The odyssey forces Volten to address what it means to be a man, an American, a human, and even the Second Coming.
